Barack Obama has built his legacy on healthcare reform that is supposed to help the poor. No one accuses him of not taking care of the poor. He’s been called a socialist, a tax hiker, a scourge to workers and the rich. But you don’t hear people saying he hurts the poor. His legacy will be that he initiated healthcare reform to help the poor at the expense of the rich. That, my friends, is a true example of great public relations spin.
I had the opportunity to see Mike Huckabee today in Dallas at an event hosted by the Rotary and the National Center for Policy Analysis. After a brief introduction by former congressman and current CEO of the NCPA Allen West, Governor Huckabee spoke about his new book, “God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy” and how his southern upbringing influenced his current policies. For most part, his speech was unremarkable.
